Starting the Uni Life

Classes just started on Monday and we already have an assignment to do, sighh. Uni life is waaay different from college. The class is much bigger, about 200 over students in one lecture hall. Lecturers don't know your names, they just teach. It's up to you whether you wana go for classes. Getting used to this type of education but I need to adapt better. Assignment for Intro to Physiology. Have to write a 1000 words max on cancer, submitted in April. Time to do research, can't really procrastinate anymore, eeks.

Timetable is a bit weird, changes every week actually cuz we got practicals and tutorials on different weeks. But since the apartment I'm living in is so near, it's super convenient. Can go home, make a sandwich and go back for classes. Not so tiring at least. Hopefully the timetable gets better. Physicochemical Basis of Pharmacy is kinda worrying me. The subject looks tough and complicated. There's this 20 minutes online quiz or something where I'm supposed to do a maths question online and get it done by 20 minutes! Kinda scary! :S

Will update more soon. This is only the 3rd day of classes and we had some referencing class today, teaching us how to research online etc. Got a free post it. So happy cuz it's purple and the stationeries here are so god damn expensive!

HELLOOO MELBOURNE!

Hello guys, it's been awhile since I've blogged. Reason? I didn't have wifi and I still don't until 5th of March. GRRR! Kangaroo people do things so god damn slow! So annoyed. Was so hyped up about skyping with my family but pfft, they had to burst my bubble. So I've sorta settled down already. Came here for exactly 8 days and I have to say, Melbourne is a really nice place! Good environment to study, love the weather. It's summer in Melbourne now and it goes up to 35 degrees but it's windy at the same time so I don't sweat much. At night the temperature drops to 14 degrees or so and it can get pretty chilly. The people here are extremely friendly, haven't seen a racist Australian SO FAR. Lets not hope for that to happen. The place I'm staying is super near Monash and by super near I mean like a minute walk from the back of my apartment.

Just done with 3 days of orientation. My mentor, Eileen is the bomb! She's funny and nice. Gave us some tips and told us if we need any help with assignments, we can ask her and she'll help us or email us some research stuff. So glad to have a mentor like her. Starting classes only next week and you can imagine the amount of time I have for sleep and i practically have nothing to do because I have no wifi which means no internet. Seriously, I cannot live without the internet! Been to the city 5 outa the 8 days I'm here. And I'm actually in the State Library now just to get wifi. The only place to go in Melbourne is the city, I'm serious. And there's nothing much to do in the city other than eating and shopping. Shopping is not allowed and I don't wana eat out all the time so I walk around the city a whole lot. In Melbourne you walk. First time in my life I walked 30 mins from the Victoria Market all the way home when I can actually get up the tram, punch my card and get off. But no, people in Melbourne walk.

Cousin Alvin took mummy and I to eat great Thai food at Ying Thai at Lygon St and gelati after that. The gelati is a MUST eat! Me and Pei Yu made a deal to have ice cream after exams especially when we're stress! 3 scoops of different flavour for 5 dollars. Only can indulge when we really need a sweet therapy. Also went to Alvin's house for dinner. Jaffa jie, his girlfriend cook really good food, so yummers. I get to see the side of Alvin I never saw before, hahaa! Ahh, so lucky to have a cousin and loads of friends here. Met up with Winnie as well, had lunch at Papa Ginos. Again, yummy food! Another one is Max Brenner, yummy chocolate. Ahh, the awesome foood :D

Thats's about it for now, Will blog again when I have wifi. Much loveees!

Nineteen :)

Turned 19 on the 6th of February which is also the last day of CNY this year. So, to celebrate it, I called over the bunch of peeps for a house party and a sort of farewell since I won't be seeing most of them before I fly off. Mum made spaghetti and longan jelly, got some pizzas from Porto Romano and satays from Sate Kajang. First time having 20 over people at home, kinda a hectic day for me serving everyone but it was fun. A huge thank you to everyone who came. You guys made my birthday a special one. Love you guys to bits!
